North Haven

A beautifully settled small New England town of 23,691 residents. The densely populated southern section is balanced by homes in the northern section which are built on 1/2 to 1 acre lots. The center of town has tastefully restored pre-1900 homes and open spaces are preserved. Neighborhoods consist of typical suburban homes, reflecting the earlier expansion of New Haven’s once growing population; larger homes are available in the Ridge Road area and in recent subdivisions. The residents reflect the diversity of the area, with many skilled workers, professionals, and executives. The addition of Amazon’s fulfillment center in 2019 provided additional local jobs to the community. Located near Interstate 91 and the Wilbur Cross Parkway (Rt. 15), North Haven has easy highway accessibility for commuters.

Schools

The education system of North Haven successfully meets the needs of its students, with four elementary schools K-5, one middle school 6-8, and one high school 9-12. There is also a comprehensive vocational program designed to supplement academic studies and the high school offers a co-op work experience program with Pratt & Whitney’s Division of United Technologies.

Recreation

Cinemark North Haven and XD is located on Universal Dr. Conveniently located off of I-91. Wharton Brook State Park provides swimming, fishing, and picnicking. There are also several tennis and fitness facilities in town. The summer music series on the green is held weekly and provides free live concerts to the public. September brings the annual North Haven Fair enjoyed by all ages.
