Wallingford was established in 1667 by the Connecticut General Assembly and incorporated in 1670. The original plot of land, located near the Quinnipiac River, is known today as Main Street. Wallingford has a population of over 45,000 and a rich history in manufacturing and design. There are five industrial and corporate office parks which are home to some of the nearly 2,200 businesses: Amphenol Corporation, Ulbrich Stainless Steels and Special Metals, Amazon, United Concrete, Nucor Steel, UPS, and Holo-Krome and Amazon’s distribution center. Situated in the Hartford-New Haven-Springfield corridor, the town is traversed by Route 5, Interstate 91 and the Wilbur Cross Parkway (Rt 15).
